MATERIALLYとTotal Tool主催によるバイオマスマテリアルの展示”VIVARIUM”に出展
イタリア・ミラノを拠点とする欧州を代表するマテリアルリサーチ専門機関であるMATERIALLYと、Giulio Ceppi氏率いるTotal Toolが主催するバイオマスマテリアルの展”VIVARIUM”が、ブレラ美術大学で開催されることとなりました。
STUDIO BYCOLORが拠点を置く東京・大森はかつて板海苔の養殖が始まった地であり、今でも多くの海苔の事業者が生産を行っています。近年の気候変動による⽔温上昇や海流・⽣態系の変化の影響を受けやすい海苔について現場の声が届きやすいことから、日本人にとって生活に当たり前にある海苔の魅力を味覚や触覚だけではなく色を通して伝えるプロジェクトを開始しました。海苔が持つ魅力を色素から探るプロジェクト”NORI PIGMENT：海からの色素”をVIVARIUMにて発表させていただきます。
VIVARIUM, an exhibition of biomass materials organised by MATERIALLY, the leading European materials research institute based in Milan, Italy, and Total Tool, directed by Giulio Ceppi, will be held at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts.
Omori, Tokyo, where STUDIO BYCOLOR is based, was once the place where NORI (A type of seaweed. Used in sushi.) cultivation began, and many NORI producers still operate there today.
The NORI is vulnerable to the effects of rising water temperatures, ocean currents and changes in ecosystems due to climate change in recent years, and it is easy to hear the voices of the people on the ground. The project “NORI PIGMENT: pigments from the sea” will be presented at VIVARIUM.
