The chair “MASHILO” is made entirely of cypress wood from Hiroshima Prefecture (Shobara City) with the aim of promoting the circulation of the forest. After the war, conifers planted in various parts of Japan for shrines and temples and houses are not currently logged and cheap timber from overseas is being used. The purpose is to contribute to the circulation by using plenty of cypress wood, which has not been used as furniture until now, to circulate the forest. In the future, we aim to continue to convey the current state of Japanese forests by practicing forest circulation while increasing the number of items.

広島県の国産檜の活用を探り伝え続けるブランドMASHILO (マシロ)。
ヒノキの森と人とを繋ぎ、植林・育成・伐採・製造・展開を具体的に行い、循環利用を目指します。
　
昨今、森には循環が必要であることが人々の中でもようやく知られてきましたが、多くの方々にはまだ知られていないという現状もあります。世界的にみても針葉樹を主材とした家具の実績がまだまだ少ない中、森の循環を促すために一般家庭用だけでなく群として利用出来る公共空間も含め提案できる家具が求められおり、MASHILO ブランドのファーストモデルとしてまず「森の循環」そして「ヒノキの家具の可能性」に興味を持っていただく層を増やすべく、使い勝手の心地よさや自由度は然ることながら造形的に象徴的な形のチェアとしました。広島の森林組合の方々から自治体の皆様と密接に関わり合いながら、企画・製造を行う土井木工株式会社（広島・府中）と共に幅広く発信していきます。
